From nervous beginners to confident professionals, Mid-Atlantic Center for the Performing Arts caters to all levels and ages, including dance lessons for children and adults. Dance classes offered include Creative Movement, ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap, and all contemporary dance styles. We now also offer full and part-time Day Care for ages 3 and older!
Performance opportunities are plentiful, from intimate showcases in our in-house theatre space, to professional Nutcracker productions at CCBC Essex ~ all dance students in all levels have the opportunity to step on the stage and shine!
Our knowledgeable, caring staff are experts at putting dance beginners of any age at ease, and our diverse professional teachers insure that our dance students can continue at MCPA as they climb the ladder of success!

CONGRATULATIONS to the MCPA Ensemble Dancers!
They were awarded the top prize of $500.00 at the annual Dancing for Dancers Benefit in Annapolis.
The winning choreographer was Shelly Masenior, for her piece entitled "Consequence of Sound".

MCPA was the winner of the first annual "Dance Off" between local dance studios at Ripkin Stadium!

We have lots of fun things happening this summer! From daycare to dancecamp, from ballet to hip-hop, MCPA is offering quality dance classes for all ages! We have three different dancecamps planned for this summer, all with an exciting theme and tons of fun activities planned! Dancecamp is geared to ages 4-8 (3.5 if they have completed creative movement), and students take ballet, tap, and jazz classes. They also do a little musical theatre, cheerleading, and tumbling too! And of course, lots of dance related crafts and activities. June 23-27 – Video Divas – Daytime Camp – 9:00 am -12:00 noon Back by popular demand – our cool and hip Video Diva dancers will create an actual music video by the end of the week. Fun and age appropriate music makes this a cool week for the Hannah Montana crowd. July 14-18 – Broadway Bound – Evening Camp – 5:00 - 8:00 pm Annie, Oliver, Lion King, Mary Poppins, Wicked – all are favorites of the young crowd! Students will love the music and stories from these Broadway favorites. A fun Broadway style review will end this exciting week of dance classes! August 11-15 – Pretty as a Princess – Daytime Camp – 9:00 am – 12:00 noon Does your little one love Fairy Tales? This week is full of dress-up, make-believe, and lots of surprises! Our dancers will put on a lovely princess themed show at the end of the week for parents and friends. Any 1 week - $150.00 ~ Any 2 weeks - $250.00 ~ All 3 weeks - $300.00 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evening Dance Classes If you prefer once a week classes, then this 4 week August session is for you! Classes will be held the weeks of August 11, August 18, August 25, and September 1. Creative Movement (ages 2.5-3) Tuesdays 5:15-6:00 $54.00 Kinderdance (ages 3.5-4) Thursdays 5:45-6:45 $60.00 Level 1 (ages 4.5-5.5) Tuesdays 6:00-7:15 $75.00 Level 2-3 (ages 6-7) Thursdays 6:45-8:15 $90.00 Please call the studio for class schedules for hip-hop, or for students age 8 and older. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full or Part-Time Day Care MCPA offers fully licensed day care for ages 2 to 12, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer tons of fun free activities and field trips, and full-time daycare students get to choose a week of dancecamp FREE! Full time day care is only $150.00 per week, and we offer part-time rates as well. We also offer care for before and after dancecamp if needed. Rest easy and let your child spend their summer with us!

The MCPA Dance Ensemble recieved the "Critic's Choice" Award at NYC Dance Alliance in Arlington, VA for their piece titled "Any Other World",
choreographed by Maeghan McHale of Gus Giordance Jazz Dance Chicago. This piece also received the highest award for Ensembles from the prestigous Youth America Grand Prix in Philadelphia.
